Alicja Czyczel
Alicja Czyczel is a feminist, choreographer, dancer and cultural studies scholar currently based in Warsaw. She holds a Bachelor degree in film studies and two Master degrees: in cultural studies and in choreography. She investigates transmateriality of imagination and uses her communication skills to co-create collective processes based on commoning, cooperation and empathy. Moreover, she works site-specifically by deep listening to the environment and being with its more-than-human habitants. Alicja practices expanded choreography fueled with the feeling that what she does in the studio, on stage and in the public space has a real, though difficult to measure, impact on social relations, forms of being together and of self-organization. Since May 2020, Alicja has been a co-creator of the Common Space – a seminar/workshop-based collective of practitioners and researchers of experimental choreography, somatics and performance.
