Ava Irandoost
Ava Irandoost moved to Germany from Iran at the age of 18. She completed her diploma in architecture at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). Her diploma thesis was an interactive video installation that was nominated for the Max Taut Prize. She then completed a MA in art and media / narrative film with Thomas Arslan at UdK and later with James Benning at the California Institute of Arts (CalArts), among others. Ava Irandoost is most passionate about the interplay of inner and outer spaces, and the geometric paces in interaction with memories and dreams. For this exploration, she employs various time-based media including film, music, different forms of video, and installation. Her work has been screened and awarded at several national and international film festivals.
