Elly Cho
Elly Cho lives and works in Seoul. She holds a BA, an MFA from the Slade School of fine Art and earned MA in Art Education at Columbia University. After obtaining MFA, she taught various visual art courses as well as theory courses at universities and colleges for seven years in Korea. Her art is an intersection among the artwork, the environment, and the viewer, which she explores in various media. She exhibited internationally and her works are included in major collections such as Seoul Municipal Museum and Musée Cantonale des Beaux-Arts du Valais in Switzerland. Her awards include “Times Square Midnight Moment July viewing program” where she showed her video work on over 50 electronic screens and billboards. She has been selected to show at annual juried exhibition entitled Nature’s Tempo at the Korean cultural services of New York, ‘Going Green’ in conjunction with Queens Art Express in New York and “Ways of Seeing” at 3-D sculpture park residency in Verbier, Switzerland. Her special projects include a huge eco-art project, sponsored by Seoul Metropolitan City.
