Manuela Menéndez Besada-Lombana
I was born in 1993 in Bogota, Colombia. I studied Visual Arts in the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá. Since the beginning of my career, I have been interested in social processes, feminism and politics as a field for artistic experimentation and practice. Given that interest I did an MA on Intercultural Conflict Management in ASH Berlin, where I started to cross artistic practices with different methodologies of social practice and research. Since I came back to Bogota (2020) I started a Magazine with a collective of diverse women, La Magdalena Revista. My artistic work focuses on feminist and collective practices, archive and the creation of spaces of dialogue. I have collaborated with domestic workers, artists, architects and women who were liberated from prison in both my artistic work and my activist and social researcher career.
